Is there an airport on Martha's Vineyard?
Yes, there is an airport on the island (MVY). It is convenient with direct flights available on Cape Air, JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines. Cape Air operates year-round service from Boston Logan International Airport, while JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta typically offer seasonal summer flights from major hubs including Boston, New York (JFK and LaGuardia), and Washington, D.C. It's recommended to book flights well in advance as summer routes fill up quickly. The airport is located in the center of the island, approximately 15 minutes by car from Oak Bluffs.

How can I get to the island by ferry?
Multiple ferry services connect Martha's Vineyard to the mainland, including options from Cape Cod, New Bedford, and other locations. Advance booking is recommended, especially in peak season.

Advanced car reservations for Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority Ferry will open at 8 AM on Tuesday, February 4, for travel from May 13, 2025, through October 21, 2025. You can book your advanced car reservation at the Massachusetts Steamship Authority website.

What transportation options are available on the island?
The island offers a variety of transportation options including bus services, bike rentals, taxis, and car rentals, making it easy to explore at your pace. The bus will be free for most of 2025! It's convenient, runs just about everywhere, and it's easy to learn. Bus drivers are friendly and will help guide you as well. 

Taxis, Lyft, Uber and car rentals are available on the island. Please be aware of surge pricing during the summer, especially on weekends.
