Thank you again for your commitment to join Black Tech Futures Research Institute for this transformative gathering, bringing together thought leaders, innovators, researchers, and changemakers from across the African diaspora to co-create ethical, inclusive solutions for our AI-driven future. As we finalize planning and logistics, we want to clearly and transparently share a few important participation guidelines to ensure mutual understanding and smooth coordination.
Conference Dates: February 11-13, 2026
Location: Lagoon Beach Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa
Founded by Dr. Fallon Wilson, the Black Tech Futures Research Institute is pioneering a global movement that ensures Black and historically marginalized communities lead in shaping responsible AI and technology innovation. This conference is a critical convening towards building alignment across universities, community-based organizations, faith institutions, and public interest technology leaders- ensuring that Black communities across the Diaspora are not simply responding to technological change, but leading its design, governance, and ethical direction. Participants will gather from nine countries across Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America (Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Brazil, Haiti, Jamaica, Colombia, South Africa, and the United States), with an intention to build the infrastructure, relationships, and shared commitments needed to shape technology with our communities at the center.
